Q&A: What Is the Most Challenging Thing to Do as a TV Producer?

What Is the Most Challenging Thing to Do as a TV Producer?

The most challenging thing to do as a television producer is to balance all of the different personalities and interests coming together on a project.

When I first started out in video production, it was just me and my camera and often times just a single client I was producing for.

Now I work on teams made up of dozens of creative people, and answer to dozens of network executives. I have to respect everyone’s creative vision while also doing what I think is best for the project based on my creative vision and my experience.

It’s a delicate balance, and it can be very difficult at times when personalities clash. I pride myself on my patience and understanding, though, and try my best to be a good team player even when things get very difficult… and I think these are the qualities that have helped me get hired on so many great shows.
